Do you work full time as a fitness model?

No im a full time London firefighter I fit the fitness modelling work around my full time job and training.


How long have you been training for?

About 20 years! Dam that’s a long time! Ive always done a lot of sports and started weight training as a way to to improve my performance at these. The fitness modelling came as an unexpected benefit.


How often do you train?

Because I work shifts as a firefighter. I have to fit training in when I can, I normally train one day on one day off in a rolling split rotation.


How many meals do you eat per day?

This varies depending on what im training for and my shifts but I would say on average six small meals per day one every 2.5 to 3 hours.


What keeps you motivated to train?

It’s a cliché I know but it really has become a lifestyle for me now I have been doing it so long its part of my life so I never lack motivation to train. I am always looking to improve learn and become better.


What were your biggest mistakes as a beginner training and nutritionally?

I’d say my biggest mistake was nutrition. When I started I had no idea how big a part nutrition plays in your performance and development when you are training. Its key to make sure you are eating correctly to help you achieve your goal.


Biggest mistakes you see others making when training?

Poor form, trying to lift too much weight because of ego and also doing loads of the isolation exercises and none of the BIG compound moves.


Do you still set yourself short term goals? If so, what are they?

To become better and learn something new every day.


What is your favourite exercise and why?

I love training chest and back together, its tough but I love the pump I get from it!


What is your proudest achievement?

Becoming a London Firefighter and then winning the London’s Fittest Firefighter Competition five years straight 2008-2012. Seven Men’s Health Covers is up there too!

How do you overcome a plateau?

Switch up my routine and introduce something intense like GVT for example.


What supplements do you use?

What do you like to do when you’re not training (hobbies)?

I love travelling and have been fortunate enough to travel all over the World and see some pretty amazing places. Cape Town is one of my favourite places, you can dive with great white sharks in the morning and then eat amazing steak in the afternoon, what better way to spend the day!
